Rishikesh is at the foothills of the Himalayas and it provides a cool escape during the hotter months. Rishikesh well-known as the “Yoga capital of India”. Rishikesh is located on the banks of the River Ganga, surrounded by hills on three sides and not far from Haridwar. The Char Dham Yatra (Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri) starts from Rishikesh. September to June is considered the best time to visit the state of Uttarakhand.
